Products And Definitions

Whilst every effort is made to portray products accurately, slight variations may occur in size and colour due to the hand decorated nature of some of our products. All measurements quoted are approximate and in centimetres. The reproduction of colours is as accurate as photographic and publishing processes will allow. Slight variations can also depend on the set up of individual screen resolutions.

Hand Decorated

All hand decorated items are originally new or pre-loved. These items have been decorated in various ways to give a new look. Please note that "Shabby Chic"  is a distressed look, therefore these items are not damaged but simply made to look older, worn and/or vintage in appearance.

Seconds

If a product is marked as a 'second' you will be able to buy it at a reduced price. A product classified as a 'second' means it is either:

  1. An item having an imperfection. An imperfection means it could have a minor chip, dent or scratch, or have a paint discolouration fault, or be marked in another way, or perhaps have something missing, With such items the nature of the imperfection will be detailed in the description.
  2. A previously returned product that has been repackaged.

Prices and Availability of Goods

Prices are subject to change without notice and all goods are sold subject to availability. If goods that have been ordered are temporarily out of stock, we will contact you so that you may choose between a refund or to wait for the item to come back into stock, or to select an alternative item. If an alternative item is chosen that is of greater value to the original item, the difference in payment will be required by you. If the item is of lesser value a refund will be issued to you for the difference.

Returns & Refund Policy – Version 1.1 - 1st March 2016

About Us

The Alma Market is a home based online business founded by Val Turner who loves and has a passion for Shabby Chic, vintage inspired crafts, gifts and homewares.

Val, who lives in beautiful South Devon has spent many years designing and creating crafts, decided it was the right time to make her passion (daily spending hours in her craft room) into a business so you (our customers) could benefit and share in her craft creations and other vintage inspired projects.

Giving items the Shabby Chic treatment has always been close to Val's heart and therefore you will discover many of her shabby projects such as such as jewellery boxes and candlesticks available on the site. These are truly unique items that will be a pleasure to own.

Do you love vintage bone china teaware and tea sets? These beautiful and collectable items are like a magnet for Val who searches high and low for good quality and best condition authentic vintage English fine china items so they can be directed to a new loving home. Chinaware from manufacturers such as Colclough, Minton, Tuscan, Royal Albert, Ainsley and Folley to name a few are listed in the exclusive section of the website.

Of course, there is also a supply of delightful home decor, homeware, gifts and accessories, Shabby chic  and vintage inspired items such as hanging hearts, picture frames, glassware, ceramics and nautical gifts that will complement and enhance your home. Whether you purchase an item that is hand finished, hand decorated or hand painted or 'off the shelf' you can be sure that it will be of good quality, best condition and reasonably priced, backed up with great customer service that will always be at the forefront of 'The Alma Market'.

Val welcomes you to browse the site, to be inspired and explore your imagination as you look to buy for your home, family and friends.
